You’ve heard and read these words before.

Now is a good time to hear them again, more than 150 years after they were first spoken by a tall president at a solemn gathering in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address was delivered on November 19, 1863, at the site of one of the bloodiest battles in the Civil War - the Battle of Gettysburg. A battle where over 50,000 soldiers died. Lincoln honored their sacrifice with his words. #CivilWar #Gettysburg

Abraham Lincoln is the only president to have held a patent. In 1849, he patented a device to lift boats over shoals and obstacles. However, it was never produced.
